On the night of February 14, 1941 the first units of what was to become famously known as the Deutsches Afrika Korps (DAK) sailed into the port of Tripoli in North Africa. The DAK formation consisted of first of two of division - 5.leichte-Division and 15.Panzer-Division. Within two months the 15.Panzer-Division was thrown into battle against British & Commonwealth forces. Rommel's lightning tactics in the desert initially achieved great success. The drive to Egypt ultimately stopped at El Alamein.

After Alam Halfa Rommel went onto the defensive and by late 1942, Rommel retreated towards Tunisia. With the Americans landed in North-West Africa, the DAK fate was doomed.

A companion title to Concord 7021 Armor of the Deutsches Afrikakorps, this book features different photos accompanied by 16 new color plate by Jean Restayn. Jean is a historian and artist, and the color plates are accurately portrayed. Interesting photos include Tiger I, PzBerWg III, PzBeobWgIII and variants of Pz III and Pz IV tanks.

We would like to welcome our newest store to the site, Stillwater Porcelain. Pat Pyott has been producing these fantastic porcelain relief tiles and dishes for many years and I first noticed these at the many local restaurants that use her plates and dishes. I was so taken by the designs and quality that I had to find out for myself who was making these and we are really excited to offer her products here at Shop Local Products. Check out this exciting line of porcelain ware.
