1930's US Navy Observer Wings Sterling by Weingarten Gallery
Item Number: P-1629This is a museum quality reproduction of a very rare French wing from the World War One. The original dates from 1916 making it one of the first wings used.. This reproduction is hallmarked 925 to indicate sterling. This badge was issued in two designs, all silver for student pilot and gold wing and gear of Airship Observer, Balloon Observer, Kite Observer and Airship Mechanic. I believe the Kite Observer should have gotten a solid gold badge. This is the trainee version of the badge.
